Play the game, do not abuse it, and understand that it is provided free and as-is.
Only Words is operated by Leelandio, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Leelandio, LLC.
By using onlywords.me you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
The service
Only Words is a free word game. It requires no account. We may change how it works, add or remove features, or stop offering it entirely, at any time and without notice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the player-name box to harass, impersonate, threaten, or abuse anyone
- Attempt to defeat the word filter or the security of the site
- Send automated traffic, scrape the site, or make requests at a volume that degrades it for other people
- Use the site to break any law that applies to you
- Interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to, any puzzle that was not shared with you
We may block access to anyone who does these things.
What you submit
The only things you can submit are single dictionary words and a short player name. You are responsible for what you type. Anything you type into the player-name box is shown to other people playing the same puzzle, so treat it as public.
You give us permission to store and display what you submit for the purpose of running the game. We may remove any submission for any reason.
Puzzle links
Each puzzle produces two links. The second one shows the answer and is intended for the person who created the puzzle. Keeping that link private is your responsibility. Anyone who has it can see the secret word, and we cannot tell who is holding it.
Availability
The site is provided free of charge and without any guarantee of uptime. Puzzles may become unavailable, and stored guesses may be lost. Do not rely on this site to store anything you cannot afford to lose.
Advertising
This site carries third-party advertising. We do not control the content of those advertisements and do not endorse the products or services they promote. Your dealings with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser.
Intellectual property
The name, design, text, and code of Only Words belong to Leelandio, LLC. The word vectors that power the ranking are derived from the GloVe project and are used under its licence.
Only Words is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other word game or its publisher.
Disclaimer and liability
The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leelandio, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from them belongs to the state or federal courts located in Florida.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
